Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: February 14, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes prohibited uses of RoutePlex's services. This AUP is part of our Terms of Service.
RoutePlex does not store or retain user-generated prompts, model outputs, web search queries, or any data related to your end-users. Content moderation is performed statelessly on each request — your content is checked in real-time and immediately discarded. We never log, review, or retain what you or your customers send through the API. This policy governs how the Services may be used.

Automated Content Moderation
RoutePlex employs automated content moderation to protect users and comply with legal obligations. All API requests pass through a multi-layer moderation pipeline:
What Is Blocked
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): Any content that sexualizes minors — zero tolerance
- Violence instructions: Detailed instructions for creating weapons, explosives, or causing mass harm
- Drug manufacturing: Step-by-step instructions for synthesizing controlled substances
- Terrorism: Planning, recruitment, or instructional content related to terrorist activities
- Self-harm instructions: Detailed methods or encouragement of self-harm or suicide
- Dark web URLs: Links to .onion, .i2p, or known illegal content domains
What Is NOT Blocked
RoutePlex is intentionally not overly restrictive. The following content is allowed:
- Profanity and strong language
- Political discussion and debate
- Adult content discussions (non-illegal)
- Educational discussion of drugs, weapons, or violence
- Fiction and creative writing with mature themes
- Academic research on sensitive topics
- News reporting on violent events
How It Works
- Layer 1 — Pattern Detection: Fast regex-based scanning for clearly prohibited content patterns (< 1ms)
- Layer 2 — AI Moderation: OpenAI's moderation API checks for severe categories like sexual/minors and violence/graphic
- Layer 3 — URL Validation: URLs are checked against a blocklist of known dangerous domains
Blocked requests receive a generic 451 error. For privacy, the specific reason for blocking is never disclosed in the response.
Compliance Logging
When a request is blocked, RoutePlex logs only:
- A one-way SHA-256 hash of the content (for trend analysis — cannot be reversed to recover the original text)
- The category of violation
- Timestamp and account identifier
Raw content is never stored. Even for blocked requests, RoutePlex does not retain, log, or inspect the original text. The moderation check is stateless — content is evaluated in-memory and discarded immediately, regardless of the outcome.
False Positives
If you believe your request was incorrectly blocked, contact support@routeplex.com with your request_id. We will review and adjust patterns as needed.
Reporting Violations
To report a violation, contact support@routeplex.com with:
- Description of the violation
- Evidence (if available)
- Your contact information
We will investigate and respond within 72 hours.
Consequences
Violations may result in:
- Warning and content removal
- Temporary suspension
- Immediate suspension without notice in cases of severe risk, abuse, or legal exposure
- Permanent account termination
- Legal action
- Reporting to law enforcement
Updates
We may update this AUP at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email.
